What's going on in Málaga?
Málaga, the shining pearl of the Costa del Sol, is not only known for its beautiful beaches, but also for its impressive sights that attract visitors from all over the world.
Like the majestic Alcazaba: this Moorish fortress towers proudly over the city and offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Its winding gardens and historic walls transport visitors back in time and tell stories of kings and conquerors.
A visit to the nearby Roman theatre is like a journey back in time to Malaga's glorious Roman past, which was built in the first century AD. It is amazingly well preserved and is still used for cultural events today.
Another highlight is the imposing cathedral of Málaga, also known as "La Manquita" - the one-armed woman. This unusual nickname comes from the fact that one of the two towers remained unfinished. A stroll through the neighbouring historic quarter reveals charming alleyways and squares that invite you to linger.
For art lovers, the Picasso Museum is an absolute must. Málaga is the birthplace of the world-famous artist Pablo Picasso, and the museum houses an extensive collection of his works.
In the Mercado Central de Atarazanas market hall, visitors can experience the flavours and colours of Andalusian cuisine. Fresh seafood, exotic fruits and fragrant spices make the visit a feast for the senses.
There is no way around Málaga's beautiful harbour. The modern Muelle Uno offers a variety of shops, restaurants and bars where you can end the day perfectly and enjoy the sunset over the sea.
