What's going on in Amsterdam?
Amsterdam, the vibrant capital of the Netherlands, is a city that marvellously combines tradition and modernity and captivates every visitor with its unique flair. Whether it's art, history, nightlife or simply enjoying the relaxed lifestyle, Amsterdam has something for everyone.
The picturesque canals that meander through the city are the centrepiece of Amsterdam. A boat trip along these waterways is a must and offers a unique perspective of the elegant merchants' houses that line the banks.
Another highlight of the city is the world-famous Rijksmuseum. This impressive art museum houses an extensive collection of masterpieces, including Rembrandt's 'The Night Watch'. In the immediate vicinity is the Van Gogh Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of works by the legendary painter Vincent van Gogh.
Not forgetting the famous Albert Cuyp Market, the longest street market in Europe. Here you can find everything from fresh produce and clothing to local delicacies such as stroopwafels and haring.
A stroll through the Jordaan neighbourhood reveals a labyrinth of narrow alleyways, charming boutiques and cosy cafés.
Of course, the Vondelpark, Amsterdam's green lung, is not to be missed. This expansive park is the perfect place for picnics, bike rides or - especially for trade fair visitors;-) - a wonderful place to relax.
